Christmas Cracker Club - Busiest Club of the year
This year's Christmas Holiday Club was the busiest of the year with 34 taking part — and still a short waiting list.
The children made Christmas baubles and their own Christmas crackers in their groups, but were particularly thrilled with their edible nativities — a biscuit stable, with edible figures inside.
We had a range of seasonal lively games — Christmas statues, a Christmas shopping game and their favourite Christmas wrapping game, racing to wrap up one of their team members !
As our theme was Christmas crackers, we enjoyed a short film and story, looking at the way many Christmas trimmings can point us to the meaning of Christmas, but then focussed on Christmas crackers themselves.
Using an 8 — foot cracker , we explored how the contents of a Christmas cracker can help us to think of Christmas in a new way, and how Jesus is God's gift to us all.
We finished with a short candle — light procession into the Church, to add the baby Jesus figure to our nativity scene and add our candles around it.
All in all it was a packed morning but 34 very excited children left very happy, with a bag full of seasonal crafts and treats.
