The 2010 Lent Course was led by the Rev'd Adrian Leighton and entitled 'Finding God in the Ordinary. The five sessions included instruction, bible study, conversation and evening prayer.
1 Finding God in the ordinary
How can we practice the presence of God? A sense of the presence of God can come in many different settings and situations, often outside and beyond the church. We can meet God in the ordinary if we're ready to find God there.
2 Finding God in our work and activity
Work, daily routine and/or regular obligation can be a place of encounter with God. But does the Church support and affirm us in such activities?
3 Finding God in fairness
We seek fairness and justice in life, while recognising that life is not fair. God is a God of justice, but that doesn't prevent bad things happening to good people.
4 Finding God in compassion
Acts of compassion and mercy point us to God. One of our dominant pictures of God is a God of love. How is love balanced with justice?
5 Finding God in community
Community life isn't easy as it often involves disagreement. Churches themselves can be divided and disunited. But is there something of God that can only be found as we work together?
