The morning service at Audlem is led by Andrew Gunstone. YCMC also meets. Refreshments are served after the service. A fairtrade stall is available.
The Audlem Church Council meets for a short meeting at 12.00 noon today in the Seville Room.
The Choir rehearses this evening at 7.45 pm.
Next Sunday (24th in Ordinary Time)
The morning service at Hankelow is led by Andrew Gunstone.
Services at Audlem are led, in the morning, by Mike Valentine and, in the evening, by Andrew Gunstone. The evening service is the September ‘Music & Muffins’ service.
Notices
The Circuit Local Preachers’ Meeting meets at Hospital Street, Nantwich, on Wednesday (8th) at 7.30 pm.
A Confirmation Course begins at Audlem this Friday (10th). A Confirmation Service will be held on Sunday 3 October at 10.30 am.
The Chester & Stoke District Synod meets next Saturday (11th) from 10.00 am at Longton Central Hall.
Andrew Hassall and Kelly Barton are to be married at Hankelow next Saturday (11th) at 2.00 pm.
The first Cheshire South Circuit Meeting is at Wesley Place, Alsager, on Wednesday 15 September at 7.30 pm. Representatives from each congregation, please note.
The next meeting of Three Ts is on Sunday 19 September at 3.00 pm.
Harvest Festival services will be held on Sunday 19 September at Hankelow, and on Sunday 26 September at Audlem. Preachers at Hankelow are Pat Norcross and Peter Ollerhead and, at Audlem, Joe Ware and Janet Field.
The 10.30 am harvest service at Audlem will be a traditional harvest at which harvest gifts will be received. (All gifts will go to Crewe Womens Refuge. They are more than grateful to receive the conventional gifts of flowers, fruit and vegetables, but are also happy to receive tin foods, cereals etc: which they can keep for emergency distribution.) The 6.30 pm service will be ‘A Celebration For Harvest through Hymns, Music and Words’. (If anyone has a favourite Harvest hymn that they would like included in the evening service please let Janet know.)
If you would like help decorate Audlem for harvest, please contact Anne or Suzie Poole. A choice of areas is available - windows, porch, communion rail.
There will be a Sunday Harvest Lunch at Audlem on 26 September at 12.30 pm. Both congregations are invited. Sign the list on the notice board in the hall. (Three course lunch, suggested donation £5.00)
Leaflets are available today about an autumn study course entitled ‘At home with Mark’. Andrew is leading the course, and members of both congregations are invited to participate. Take a leaflet home with you.
We learnt this week of the death of Joan Meadley, widow of Tom Meadley who was minister here from 1937-1940. On the notice board in the hall is a letter from Joan’s family to ‘friends at Audlem’.
