On Friday, Audlem was buzzing with the excitement of the annual light switch on and the imminent arrival of Father Christmas to the village. At AMC, we decided to join in with the festivities with something a little different. Our building was beautifully lit up on the outside wall with a dramatic light display depicting festive images for all to see. But as the first sounds of 'O Little Town of Bethlehem' were heard, the bright images disappeared and we saw the simple image of Mary and Joseph beginning their long journey. The imagery developed and we passed by the stable, saw the shepherds visited by the angel and then the baby Jesus lying in the manger. As the music passed through different carols, we ended up on a hillside and the images of three crosses came into view as the gentle sound of "Thine be the Glory' rang through the cold night air. A poignant reminder to all of the real meaning of Christmas.
