Looking at a recent book by Bear Grylls, ‘The Greatest Story Ever Told’, a retelling of the life of Jesus through the eyes of the people who knew him best. New friends always welcome and this would be an easy start with the Book Group which begins with refreshments.

Wednesday 21 January at 7.30pm in the Small Room AMC Church Council meeting. Church Council members please note. Open to anyone interested (except for any vote needed).

Collection Envelopes (Amended) – for those that use them, they are at the back of the church for collection and use from February. Jane has taken an executive decision and hopes you will all agree. The envelopes can only be ordered as a minimum of 30 boxes at a cost to the church, we use less than 10 boxes each year now, so it is a waste of money and paper to throw away the unused boxes and order new ones each year, so by manually changing the numbers/dates on the remaining ones we are recycling and spreading the cost to the church over a three year period which can only be a good thing, hence the amended envelopes now available.

Crewe by Farndon chapel invite us to join them as they journey on the North Wales Pilgrims Way Stage 10 on Saturday 18 April 2026 from Bangor to Llanberis (11 miles). Walking through the spectacular Snowdonia Range as we pass the half way point, journeying towards Bardsey. There will also be an opportunity to climb Snowdon the day after, or enjoy a day in Llanberis. Please contact Marie for more information on 07826 090448.

Invitation to the Bereavement Journey

In the new year St James Church will be running a course called the Bereavement Journey. If you have been bereaved recently, or long ago, and are struggling with the grief that arises when we loose a loved one, we hope you will benefit from attending the Bereavement Journey.

The Bereavement Journey is a nationally recognised course, offering 15 videos over 7 sessions. Participants are in small groups for discussion after watching the videos and volunteers guide them to explore their loss during each session. aided by a manual. You can search ‘the bereavement journey’ online to see more details on the website.

The course will be run by Rev Alison Fulford and Anne Draper, both of whom have been helping families with funerals for many years and who have undertaken further training in order to facilitate this course. It will be held in the meeting room at Audlem Methodist Church as this is a course offered on behalf of all 3 churches in Audlem, as well as St Chad Wybunbury and St Johns Doddington. The Bereavement Journey is not a Christian course per se, however session 7 does explore faith issues and is therefore optional for participants to attend. The times are between 11am and 1pm on Thursdays and here are the dates: 22nd and 29th January, 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th February and 5th March 2026. We would ask that you try to commit to the dates above to gain the most benefit.

If you would like to reserve a place, or if you have any queries or concerns, please contact Rev Alison using the details above. There will be a small cost of £5 for the accompanying manual. The places are limited so please let us know by Monday 12th January 2026 if you would like to join us.

We realise some of you may not live locally or could have daytime commitments. This course is also run online over 7 weeks in the evenings, please look at the following website link for more details of how to join in: https://www.thebereavementjourney.org/national-online-course
