Sister Act Jr. A huge thank you to all who took part in any way! It was a great show and enjoyed by packed audiences at each performance.
During the covid lockdown Tom Hassall, a war hero and long time resident and of Hankelow, who died recently, regularly sent me anecdotes to publish on the weekly newsletter. In memory of him I thought it appropriate to re-publish two of them.
Count your blessings instead of your crosses, Count your gains instead of your losses,
Count your joys instead of your woes, Count your courage instead of your foes,
Count your laughs instead of your tears, Count your full years instead of your tears
Count your kind deeds instead of your mean, Count your health instead of your wealth
Count on God, instead of yourself.
This second one was Tom's thought for the day which he said her read every morning.
'This is the beginning of a new day. God has given me this day to use as I will. I can waste it or grow in its light and be of service to others, but what I do this day is important because I have exchanged a day of my life for it When tomorrow comes today will be gone forever. I hope I will not regret the price I paid for it.'
