It has been another busy week for AMC with the drains in the car park being repaired. Since the Annual Church meeting, which many of you attended, we approached Methodist Insurance to ask if the collapsed drains in the car park might be an insurance issue, a full camera survey was done and they agreed. This was excellent news but they highlighted that the damage had been caused by heavy vehicles, and we must restrict the width of our car park entrance to avoid it happening again, if we didn't, quite simply the car park would no longer be insured. It has not been easy to come up with a plan that both looks nice and fulfills what the insurance company required but hopefully the planters which ADAS have agreed to plant and maintain will soon be an additional focal point. The entrance has been created wide enough to take emergency vehicles and it is certainly wide enough for all cars, but not wide enough for tractors and lorries. There are two pedestrian accesses as well, in either side. Please be careful as we all get used to this latest new development. Thank you.
The next midweek service and lunch is a week on Wednesday 30th August.
Our next Coffee morning will be on Saturday 2nd September from 10.30-12.30 (please note the change of time). The usual stalls will be there; cakes, cards, raffle, books etc. so any donations and help will be greatly appreciated.
Broomhall and Sound chapel and Puppets Connect invite you to join them on Tuesday 22nd August 11.30am to 1pm for Our Wonderful World Puppet presentation. Bring your own picnic. All ages welcome – contact Kathryn 1108lw2@gmail.com or message 07816 978476
AMC Book Group: The next meeting of our little group will be on Thursday 7th September at 2.30pm in our small meeting room at AMC. For a change the book chosen is a novel 'Little Faith' by an American author Nickolas Butler. Set in rural Wisconsin it has themes of family love and grief together with faith and religion. Newcomers are always welcome, and this could be a good introduction.
